The idea of being “successful” is ultimately a matter of personal judgment in my opinion. But regardless of personality, industry, or point in history, there are timeless truths about what it takes to achieve one’s potential. Success often seems like a great mystery. Some people are destined for it while others are not. While I think luck and genetics may contribute a slight role, there are certain adaptable and learnable behaviors which make success more likely to come by for each and everyone of us.
I have experienced that none of these habits require major life overhauls. Instead, it’s about making small tweaks to our daily routines that could potentially result in big payoffs. Let’s put it to good use for this fabulous year 2017 ahead of us and make it work.
Successful people make their health a priority!
I believe in what we eat and how much we exercise affects every area of our life. Successful people use their exercise as a time to reset and plan. And they make smart food choices that will give them the energy they need to accomplish everything on their daily to-do list.
Get Up An Hour Early!
Getting up an hour earlier is going to take time to adjust to, but once we make it a habit, we will never look back. not only are early risers more optimistic and conscientious, they also anticipate problems and minimize them more efficiently. Which of course is crucial to success in the business. Waking up early offers us opportunities that few get to enjoy, such as watch the sun rise, hear the sound of birds chirping, and just be still. We are always on the move. Sit and enjoy the morning calm. It’s a brief time where we can be alone with our thoughts. Just breathe.
Get Moving Get Motivated!!
Morning workouts not only give us a boost of energy, they pump us up, ensuring our senses are up and running. It motivate our senses and lift us feeling energized and invigorated. We’ll feel ready to tackle any problem that comes our way. There’s one app, Hot5 Fitness, that features easy and effective full body workouts that I like.
Eat Breakfast & Pack Snacks!
Time is a luxury, enjoy it and feed ourselves a wholesome breakfast. Eating fuels our brain, improving focus, productivity and memory. Plan our snacks ahead of time and drop some bars into our bag. Fuel our body for the tasks that lay ahead of us. It will help us maintain a steady focus throughout the day. Smart snacking is critical for keeping our metabolism going and our brain working at full capacity through our busy day.
Enjoy the quiet and take some time to map out our day. Early hours foster reflection. Think through our goals and to-dos. Take whatever notes we need to ensure our day will be calmer and more efficient. Even two minutes of visualization and positive thinking can improve our mood and clarity for the entire day ahead.
Say “Au Revoir” To That One Big Task!
The morning is the time when we typically have the most energy and feel the most rested. Take the opportunity to reprioritize the to-do list, placing the most dreaded task at the top of our list. Instead of letting it loom over us all day save ourselves the agony and stress and get it done first thing. We will feel a sense of relief and be more ready and willing to tackle any task that follows.
Avoid Toxic People!
We are only as successful as the people we spend the most time with. So choose our friends wisely.
Learn to let go of the things that are cluttering our life. This is something I am still working on almost everyday, I have somethings to toss out. It’s one thing to try to clear our mind, but sometimes we have to physically toss something to feel lighter. So get rid of something old magazines, junk mail, apps on your phone, old receipts or papers and watch how our attitude changes throughout the day. Our lives get cluttered so easily, but they can become uncluttered just as fast. Remember that!
Set Goals, Not Wishes!
We cannot control the outcome of a wish, but we can control the outcome of a goal.
Go To Bed Early!
Getting the proper amount of sleep is critical to not only our mental health and creativity but to weight control. A while ago, I read an article on when our biorhythms are off it wreaks havoc on our entire system, and get us feeling distraught and irritated throughout the day easily. Getting the proper sleep our body needs sets us up for success in everything else we want to achieve . . . So rest up Beautiful people, we have much to accomplish for the new fabulous year 2017!
